THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Elsie Winston (1925-27, 1927-36)

Elsie Winston joined the chorus of the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company in Octoberber 1925. She remained with the "New" Company until in was disbanded June 4, 1927.

Miss Winston then took an extended vacation, but returned to the remaining D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in October 1927. She remained in the D'Oyly Carte chorus until June 1936. She occasionally filled in in named parts. These included Pitti-Sing in The Mikado (autumn 1929) Vittoria in The Gondoliers (once in September 1929, on occasion in 1931-32), and Leila in Iolanthe (April 2, 1932).
