Caroline Kerracher Rodger Donald made her first appearance with the D'Oyly Carte organization as Gianetta in The Gondoliers on tour with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "E" between April and June 1890. When Geraldine Ulmar left the D'Oyly Carte, Miss Donald joined the main company at the Savoy:appearing as Gianetta on several occasions in July, August, and September 1890. In January 1891 she transferred to the Royal English Opera House where she served as understudy to for the role of Rowena in Sullivan's Ivanhoe. Miss Donald returned to the Savoy on February 28, 1891, as Gianetta again, playing the part until April 17, during which time she appeared in the March Command Performance at Windsor Castle. She then returned to Ivanhoe, appearing as Rowena on at least one occasion in May. Then once more back to the Savoy, where she resumed Gianetta for the last two weeks of the run: from June 6-20, 1891.

In November 1891 Miss Donald was yet again back at the Royal English Opera House, where she appeared on occasion as Colette in Messager's La Basoche until January 1892. She then rejoined the D'Oyly Carte on tour, appearing as Winifred in The Vicar of Bray with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D" from March to October 1892.
