Dorothy Elsie Duncan served with D'Oyly Carte touring companies between February 1895 and December 1900. She appeared in several smaller roles: Anna in The Chieftain (Company "D," February to August 1895); Sacharissa in Princess Ida and Phylla and Melene in Utopia Limited (Company "D," all in October 1895); Saleta (and deputized as Princess Kalyba) in Utopia Limited (Company "C," November 1897-December 1898), and "Honey-of-Life" in The Rose of Persia (Company "D," April-December 1900). She was married to D'Oyly Carte bass-baritone Albert E. Rees.
There was an Elsie Duncan who appeared at the Queen's Theatre, London, as an extra in a single matinee performance of Leo Tolstoy's comedy The First Distiller, June 25, 1917.
