Victoria Duncan (1979-80)

Soprano Victoria Duncan obtained diplomas as a pianist and singing teacher before joining the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus in January 1979. At the start of the 1979-80 season she briefly understudied the parts of Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Celia in Iolanthe, and Fiametta in The Gondoliers. She left the Company in February 1980, later that year appearing in the original London cast of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd (Drury Lane, July-November 1980).
