THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
J. T. Haines (m.d., 1881)
J. T. Haines was musical director for a touring production of The Pirates of Penzance with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "E" Company from August to November 1881. Little else is known of his career other than that he was earlier musical director at London's Globe Theatre for James Albery and Frederic Clay's "romantic legend" Oriana (February-March 1873).
Nor is it known whether he was related to the dramatic author J[ohn] T[homas] Haines (1799?-1843), who wrote the melodrama My Poll and My Partner Joe.
