Miss Emma Rushton Waldeck Hall was principal contralto with D'Oyly Carte Company "B" from July 1890, when she took over the role of the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers, until December 1891. Beginning in December 1890, when The Yeomen of the Guard was added to the tour, she also played Dame Carruthers in that opera.
From the Autumn of 1892 through the Spring of 1893 she toured with Horace Sedger's Opera Company as Ultrice in Gilbert and Cellier's The Mountebanks.
She was married to D'Oyly Carte tenor Bates Maddison.
