Miss Heathcote as Chloe in Princess Ida

(Miss) Heathcote (1884-85)

Miss Heathcote (only her surname is known) was the original Chloe in the first London production of Princess Ida (Savoy, January-October 1884). She remained with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Savoy for the revivals of The Sorcerer and Trial by Jury (October 1884-March 1885), serving in the chorus of bridesmaids in the shorter work. And she appears to have been in the chorus of The Mikado when it opened in March 1885 but left at some point during the run.
