Charles Savidge (1881-82)

Charles Savidge began his stage career on the road, including an 1877 tour with Alice May and another with Rose Bell's repertory company.
A member of the D'Oyly Carte chorus during the original run of Patience, Savidge's name appears on a letter of appreciation to Gilbert, Sullivan, and Carte signed by the "Gentlemen of the Chorus" on 2 January 1882.
Savidge later returned to touring. He traveled with Kate Santley, Percy Compton, and Gladys Heathcote's companies appeared in the British provinces, and ultimately switched to non-musical productions.
