Baritone chorister George Herbert Shepherd toured with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "C" Company in Ruddigore during the Spring of 1887.
He later spent three years (1889-92) as a vocalist and cicerone (guide) with an entertainment called "Hamilton's Diorama," then embarked on a brief career on his own as drawing room comedian and concert manager. He later managed a series of pubs and hotels.
