Eckford Smith (1892-94)

William Eckford Smith was a chorister with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D" from July 1892 until early 1894. He was then sent to New York, where he played Sir Bailey Barre with D'Oyly Carte's American Utopia Limited Company at the Broadway Theatre, between March 26 and May 12, 1894. When Utopia moved on to Boston, Smith may have left the Company. His role was taken there by Percy Charles.
