THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

The St. Felix Sisters

Henrietta St. Felix (1881)

Dancers Charlotte, Clementine, and Henrietta St. Felix appeared at New York's Standard Theatre with E. E. Rice & R. D'Oyly Carte's First Billee Taylor Company in May 1881. Known as "The St. Felix Sisters," they danced the "Sailor's Hornpipe" in the Stephens & Solomon opera. It was their only engagement with the D'Oyly Carte organization.

The sisters were first seen on the New York Stage a decade earlier:billed as the St. Felix Parisienne Infant Ballet Troupe ("children from 5 to 10 years of age dancing with the proficiency of adults"). They were still performing in the 1890s.
