(Master) Thirlwell (1888)

(Master) Thirlwell was one of many juveniles who appeared with D'Oyly Carte companies in early productions of H.M.S. Pinafore as Tom Tucker under the stage name "Mr. Fitzaltamont." He appeared with D'Oyly Carte's "E" (Pinafore and Pirates) Company on tour in May 1888. We know his identity only because his surname name appears, along with those of other members of the Company, on the printed text of an address presented to Mr. and Mrs. D'Oyly Carte on the occasion of their wedding.
