Glynne Thomas (1957-59)

Glynne Thomas served in the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus from October 1957 to July 1959. During the 1958-59 season, he appeared at times as Second Yeoman in The Yeomen of the Guard and Antonio in The Gondoliers, assuming Antonio on a regular basis in May 1959 when John Reed moved up to the Duke of Plaza-Toro following Peter Pratt's departure.

Thomas later appeared with the Royal Opera at Covent Garden and elsewhere in grand opera. He may be heard briefly on the Royal Opera's 1960 recording of Verdi's Macbeth. He took another small role (Retz) in Joan Sutherland's 1970 recording of Meyerbeer's Les Huguenots.
